SHOT Show 2024: 7 New Shotguns

By Joe Kriz

01/26/2024

Hosting 2,500 exhibitors – including Swampfox – and attracting over 55,000 attendees, SHOT Show is the annual launch pad for new firearms and accessories. This week, the team traveled to Las Vegas for the 46th largest firearms industry event of the year.

While most of our time was spent showing off new optics, we managed to sneak away from the booth for a bit to walk the nearly 14 miles of show floor and see the latest the industry has to offer.

Continuing our series highlighting new guns and gear, below are seven of the best new shotguns announced at SHOT Show 2024. Check out the rest of our SHOT Show coverage for even more new products and scenes from the show.

New Shotguns

Mossberg Optics-Ready Models

Rather than focus on one specific model, we wanted to highlight Mossberg’s commitment to optics-ready shooting. New for 2024, various Mossberg 500, 590, 590S, 835, and 940 Pro models have been updated with Shield RMSc footprint cut receivers or equipped with Holosun 407K red dots. Notable models include the 940 JM Pro Optic Ready and 590/940 Pro Tactical Thunder Ranch, continuing to partner with Jerry Miculek and Clint Smith, respectively, to master competition and self-defense.

MSRP: $662.00–1,240.00 / mossberg.com

Beretta 1301 Tactical Mod.2

What do you do when you produce the world’s best tactical shotgun? You make it even better. That’s exactly what Beretta did with the new and improved 1301 Tactical Mod.2. Available in four colors with three stock options, including a collapsible and/or folding stock from Chisel Machining, the Mod.2 is upgraded with an M-LOK and retextured forend, aluminum optic receiver rail, tactical trigger, and new Pro-Lifter for better performance that meets demands of professionals and civilians alike.

MSRP: $1,799.00–1,999.00 / beretta.com

Palmetto State Armory 570

Among Palmetto State Armory’s newly announced concept guns, the 570 concept caught our attention. Not only because it’s the manufacturer’s first foray into the shotgun platform, but because of its modular, build-your-own capability. A 12-gauge pump-action design, the 570 will be sold as complete firearms, as well as individual actions, barrels, and tubes. The 570 is also compatible with most Remington 870 components, making aftermarket customization easy. Receivers are milled to accept RMR footprint red dots and feature a tang safety, high-ready action release, beveled loading port, and barrel clamp.

Panzer Arms EG-220

While lever guns were all the rage at SHOT Show 2024, few were released with shotgunners in mind. New from Turkish manufacturer, Panzer Arms, the EG-220 is a 12-gauge lever-action shotgun blending traditional functionality with contemporary features. A natural walnut buttstock leads to a steel receiver with lever loop, enlarged controls and loading port, integrated QD sling mount, and machined optic rail, firing from a 20” barrel and feeding from a 5-round tube encased by an M-LOK forend.

MSRP: $399.99 / panzerarmsusa.com

Heritage Mfg. Badlander

Based on the legend of Old West scatterguns, the new Heritage Mfg. Badlander is a 12-gauge side-by-side ready to kick ass and take names. Featuring dual 18.5” black chrome-coated barrels, an alloy steel break-action receiver, and high-grade, Turkish walnut stock, the Badlander measures less than 35” long and weighs under 6.5 pounds. Take aim from home or the stagecoach with a brass bead front sight nestled between the barrels and independent twin triggers.

MSRP: $893.99 / heritagemfg.com

Revolution Armory Rev410

Sticking with the western theme – Revolution Armory introduced a revolving cylinder .410 shotgun at this year’s show. Appropriately named the Rev410, the shotgun features a 5-round cylinder for 2-3/4” and 3” shells with removable plugs for compliance when hunting. Available in 20” and 24” barrel lengths, the Rev410 is constructed from black 4140 steel and checkered Turkish walnut furniture with options for a vented rib with front bead or adjustable fiber optic front sight. A tactical model is also available.

MSRP: $839.99 / revolutionarmory.com

Mossberg Vanisher Breachers

Developed for two European military contracts, The Firearm Blog got an exclusive rundown on new 'Vanisher' breacher shotguns from Mossberg. Using the magazine-fed 590M system to maximize 5+1 12-gauge capacity in a short overall length, the shotguns feature single piece barrels with breacher muzzles and M-LOK handguards. However, one features a Hogue pistol grip, mag well guide, Picatinny receiver rail, and specially designed action release and protected AR-style safety selector, while the other is a no-frills Shockwave variant with sling. Neither are currently available to the commercial market, but never say never when it comes to Mossberg.
