OPTICAL PERFORMANCE

Patriot's top-of-the-line precision capabilities are due to the state-of-the-art glass that goes into its optic. The glass is made with the best quality components and materials, and features multiple coating layers that provide anti-fog, anti-scratch, and hydrophobic performance. Patriot's unmatched performance and optical clarity make it stand out in its category.

OPTICAL PERFORMANCE

SEE ALL, SHOOT ALL

Patriot's superior glass clarity is immediately noticeable across the entire magnification range. This is due to its exceptional light gathering and transparent glass characteristics, which allow for a clear and wide sight picture, ensuring accurate shots in any situation.

REAR DIOPTER

Patriot is designed for clear reticle visibility, regardless of astigmatism or individual eyesight differences. Adjust the diopter on the rear of the housing for clear visibility at any magnification or distance. The fast focus adjustable ocular lens allows for micro-adjustments to keep the reticle sharp.

ZERO RESETTABLE TURRETS

A zero reset is a very useful tool for making adjustments on the fly. To use this feature on Patriot, you will need to set your desired zero. Once you have achieved your desired zero, use the S-wing tool or a coin to remove the locking bolt on the turret. You can now move the turret to reflect your new zero. Once you have set your new zero, put the turret locking bolt back on and tighten it down. You have now used the zero stop to show your new "zero" point.

Sharpshooter MOA

Sharpshooter MOA is a ranging and holdover reticle using the Minute of Angle mathematical system. With the help of a ballistic calculator or a few basic formulas, you can use Sharpshooter to estimate the range to target, then hit it without adjusting your turrets using the holdover aiming cues.

MEASURE IT WELL

Other reticles give you one or two hash mark dimensions to use for range estimation. If the target size doesn’t match up, you must make your best guess based off those limited options. Sharpshooter MOA incorporates subtensions from 4 MOA all the way down to 0.5 MOA. Less guessing; more confidence.

HOLD IT OVER

With range to target established, you can use Sharpshooter’s holdover grid to shift your point of aim, compensating for both bullet drop and wind conditions without ever having to physically adjust the Patriot’s 0.25 MOA-per-click target turrets. The holdover grid extends 36 MOA down with precise wind hold dots extending to a maximum of 24 MOA to each side of center.

NEVER WRONG

Due to the Patriot’s First Focal Plane construction, the measurements or subtensions in Sharpshooter MOA are correct and true at all magnifications. You never have to worry about being at the “wrong” magnification to range estimate or use the holdover grid.

THE BOTTOM LINE

Sharpshooter MOA is compatible with any caliber. As just one example, using a 100 yard zero, Sharpshooter MOA will provide holdovers for a standard .308 Winchester rifle to hit accurately past 900 yards in 20 mph winds.

STANDARD MRAD RANGING

In order to range targets or objects with Sharpshooter MOA, use the MOA ranging formula: Target Size (inches) x 95.5” / Image Size in MOA = Range In Yards

In order to obtain an accurate range estimation, you need to know the size of the target in inches. Using either vertical or horizontal hash marks, measure the target dimensions in MOA as you view it through the scope. Multiply the target’s actual size in inches x 95.5”, then divide that result by your MOA target dimension observation to get the range to target in yards.

EXAMPLE #1: Assuming this combatant is 6 feet [72 inches) tall, and his body length comprises 15 MOA in your reticle, how far away is he? 72 x 95.5” / 15 MOA = 460 Yards

USING BASIC HOLDOVERS

Example #2: Assume that you have ranged a target 400 yards away and your ballistic calculator or bullet trajectory chart indicates that the bullet will drop about 6 MOA at 400 yards. If you want to “dial for dope” you can turn the elevation turret up to 6 MOA and fire using the center of the crosshair. However, it is faster to leave the scope zeroed, abandon using the center aiming point, and count 6 MOA down on the crosshair’s hash marks, using the numbers on the right of the dot grid as a quick reference. Looking through the scope, you will appear to be aiming high of the target. Gravity will push down on the bullet as it flies the 400 yards to hit the target’s center of mass.

  • Patriot FFP Mil: The reticle is clear. This optic as a 400$ budget optic compares well as far as clarity, focus and parallax adjustment to my work optics (Leopold/night force). While the reticle is vertically limited to .5 mil subtensions, I find it easy to use and apply a .2 hold with the clean lines. I didn't receive throw levers but it's not a deal breaker. This was mounted to a platform that will see 600m engagements at a maximum range. It tracks well and holds zero after adjustment in all directions. For a budget optic, this is the only choice. I would like to see how it holds up to dynamic weather changes (freezing night/90 degrees day) and general use over the next few years.

  • Good, but zero stops: Love the reticle and everything about the scope. My only complaint - and this may be more of a preference thing, but I want zero stops. I want to be able to dial in a yardage and return straight back to zero. Other than that I love the scope. Eye bow is great, glass is great, looks great feels great, turrets track great. Zero stops.

  • Amazingly clear glass for the price-point. Customer service is outstanding! Will recommend and buy again when the need arises!

  • Simply, I think you guys made a mistake in the pricing.... because this glass is way too good for a $400 scope! Also, firm no mush clicks on the turrets, reticle will make life much easier.

  • Clear lenses, has good eye relief and easy zoom in ans out. Only con is the MOA markers are to small when zoomed out to lowest setting. For my eyes that is.

  • Great price point for a FFP scope. I have only 100 rounds at 100 yards at this point as I develop a load for the rifle it’s mounted on. Windage and elevation clicks are not as positive as I would like, but are acceptable. At low power, the reticle is very thin and hard to see. The very center dot is pretty small at all magnifications. I do like this scope and the eye relief works well for me. Looking forward to more time behind it.

  • Gotta remember this is under $400, coming from my NF ATACR I can't expect the same performance, but it's also 1/10th the cost. The turrets are mushy, but the reticle is great, I don't even need to dial with the Xmas tree reticle, the eyebox is pretty forgiving, and it dials accurately. I put this on my Tikka T1X and shoot out to 200yds with it very accurately. The price point lets me continue to compete in NRL22 base class. For a 4-16 zoom you get a decent amount of range and the weight is pretty good. I'd compare it to a Vortex LHT and you'll see it's within a couple ounces of their lightweight class. I could xfer this to a hunting rifle and it would be more than capable. It's hard to find anything with a Christmas tree reticle in this price range. Great job Swampfox. Feature rich. Can't wait to see your next line of scopes.

  • Great scopes. But i had originally purchased it for nrl base class...now im over budget, and that makes this scope obsolete for me
